In 1926, Andrew Vogel began Vogel Paint and Wax with two small grinding machines each capable of making five gallons of paint. Andrew’s story begins in Friesland, Holland, where he worked in his father’s paint shop applying finishes to the homes and carriages of Dutch farmers. In 1913, he immigrated to America and se3led in northwest Iowa. He soon discovered the paint available did not measure up to his family’s strict standards of appearance and performance, and a remarkable success story begins. Following WWII, Andrew’s sons carried on with Andrew’s commitment to superior coaWngs. The company grew by supplying coaWngs to the expanding agricultural equipment industry, and the company was also acWve in producing traffic paint, government coaWngs, and architectural finishes. In 1967, Vogel Paint purchased Diamond Products and in the early 70s the company started to do business as Diamond Vogel Paint to capitalize on the strong brand recogniWon of each company.
